Annual Meeting of INTERREG programs
22 May @ 9:00 am - 23 May @ 5:00 pm EEST
For the last 29 years, the European Union has been investing in European Territorial cooperation through Interreg, a financing instrument for regional development across borders, which despite its limited financial allocation proved a real added value to the European Union. Territorial cooperation is central to the construction of a common European space and it is a cornerstone of the European integration process.
During the 2014-2020 programming period, the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration is responsible, as Managing Authority or National Authority, for 12 Interreg Programmes, which are being implemented both at internal and external borders of the European Union.
Romania is delighted to welcome the Interreg community in Bucharest. The two days ahead are filled with exciting discussions on both the present, and also the future, as the legal framework negotiations on the cohesion policy are making good progress, a goal we have committed to when taking on the rotating Presidency of the European Union Council.
