European Maritime and Fisheries Fund post 2020

Ministers are expected to reach a partial general approach on the Commission proposal of the European maritime and fisheries  fund (EMFF) for the next programming period 2021-2027.

Fishing opportunities for 2020

Ministers will be presented with a communication on the state of play of the common fisheries policy and the 2020 fishing opportunities. The EU sets annual catch limits for most commercial fish stocks, called fishing opportunities or total allowable catches (TACs).

Future of the CAP post 2020

The Council will discuss the post 2020 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) reform package.
In particular the presidency will present its progress report on the three legislative proposals:

  • a regulation on the CAP strategic plans
  • a regulation on the single common market organisation (CMO)
  • a horizontal regulation on the financing, managing and monitoring of the CAP
