Meeting of Directors General for Higher Education (Bucharest, 5-7 June 2019)

The Ministry of National Education organised, under the aegis of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, between 5 and 7 June 2019, at the National Military Club in Bucharest, the meeting of Directors General for Higher Education.

The topics of discussion concerned the key concepts that the Ministry of National Education promoted during all the events organised in the field of education throughout the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, namely quality, inclusion and excellence.

Other topics were also debated, regarding European policies in education: automatic recognition of diplomas, the Erasmus+ programme, the STEAM concept, the status of implementing two major initiatives – European Universities and the European Student Card – as well as innovative learning and teaching methods.

Directors General for Higher Education from all EU Member States, representatives of the European Commission, as well as representatives of European organisations with responsibilities in the field of higher education (EQAR, EURASHE, ESU, EUA) attended.

The Meeting of Directors General for Higher Education is organised biannually, the meeting in Bucharest being the first in 2019.
