Agenda highlights
The Council is expected to agree its position on a proposal on the use of electronic freight transport information. This would bring more efficiency to the transport sector through a uniform legal framework.
Ministers will also assess the progress of several proposals:
hired vehicles – to establish clear rules and to soften restrictions relating to international transport
road charging – the so-called Eurovignette proposal addressing issues such as road infrastructure financing, congestion and greenhouse gas emissions
rail passengers’ rights
permit-granting measures for the trans-European transport network (TEN-T).
Any other business’ will include, among other topics, Council presidency information on the proposal to stop seasonal time changes.
