In line with the calendar of activities of the Romanian Presidency of the EU Council,the Ministry of National Defence hosted on 7 – 8 March 2019,in Bucharest, the Informal Meeting of the Athena Special Committee. The Athena Committee manages the financial aspects of the CSDP operations having military or defence implications.
The discussions focused on the revision of Financial Rules in particular on amending the provisions on public procurement.
During the working session it was emphasized the experience with the current practice in different missions and operations and the audit recommendations with respect to public procurement which indicated the need for amending a number of areas in the current Athena Financial Rules.
