Local and regional politicians from all over the EU will welcome Viorica Dăncilă, Prime Minister of Romania and representative of the Romanian EU Presidency, at the European Committee of the Regions’ (CoR) plenary session. The priorities of the EU Presidency (live, starting 17.00), preservation of cohesion as a common European value, and the EU’s future after Brexit will be among the main topics for debate.
This debate comes just a few weeks ahead of the 8th European Summit of Regions and Cities that will be held in Bucharest on 14-15 March 2019. The event is co-organised by the CoR, the Romanian EU Presidency and the Associations of local and regional authorities of Romania. Under the title “(Re) New EUrope” the Summit will gather over 500 European, national, regional and local leaders from all EU Member States to discuss the contribution of local and regional governments to the future of Europe.
