Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă attends the launch of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU organised at the seat of the European Parliament

On her visit to Brussels to present the priorities of the Romanian Presidency of the EU Council, Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă, joined by other members of the governmental delegation, attended the launch of the Romanian Presidency of the European Council.

The event enjoyed the presence of both high European officials and members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Brussels. The highlight of the event was the opening of Sorin Onişor’s photography exhibition, “Romanian Landscape”, while the music programme was performed by Violoncelissimo ensemble.

On this occasion, Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă addressed the audience, imparting her appreciation for the Romanian artists’ participation in the event and emphasising Romania’s contribution to the European identity and project, both from the cultural point of view and from the position of the country holding the Presidency of the Council of the EU.

The Romanian dignitary also pointed out that the lines of action comprised in the Programmme of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU reflect a key idea: “Cohesion, a common European value”. In this spirit of unity, solidarity and cohesion, Romania’s intention is to act effectively, in a manner that will enable the results the European citizens expect.

The Romanian prime minister thus conveyed that the successful achievement of the objective our country assumed during the Presidency of the Council of the EU depends on the unity and cooperation of all the members of the European Union, decision-makers and last, but not least, all the European citizens
