Minister for Foreign Affairs Teodor Meleşcanu participates in Foreign Affairs Council

Minister for Foreign Affairs Teodor Meleşcanu will participate on Monday, January 21, 2019, in the Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels.

The agenda of the EU foreign ministers will consist of topical issues, such as the fight against disinformation, EU-League of Arab States (LAS) cooperation and EU-Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) relations.

In the meeting chaired by the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Frederica Mogherini, the Romanian minister for foreign affairs will present his counterparts the main topics on which Romania will focus during its Presidency of the Council of the European Union, including those in the field of foreign affairs and security policy in which the Presidency acts in support of the high representative of the EU.

On Tuesday, January 22, 2019, Minister Teodor Meleșcanu will also present the foreign relations priorities of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU in the European Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs (AFET) and Committee on Development (DEVE).

On the same day, the Romanian dignitary will have the opportunity to present the foreign policy priorities of the Romanian Presidency of the Council of EU in a briefing organised by the European Policy Centre think tank.
