Romanian Minister Delegate for European Affairs and representative of the EU Council, George Ciamba, takes part in a series of official events during the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg

On 16 January 2019, Romanian Minister Delegate for European Affairs, George Ciamba, participated in several high-level events on the agenda of the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg, events aligned with the Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

During the first part of the day, the Romanian official represented the EU Council in the informal trilogue on the revision of the Regulation on European political parties and foundations. Mercedes Bresso and Rainer Wieland, rapporteurs for the European Parliament, and Frans Timmermans, First Vice-President of the European Commission, took part in the successful talks. The Romanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union secured its first political agreement between the two co-legislators.

The Romanian Minister Delegate for European Affairs also followed the EP plenary debate on the future of Europe, along with the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez. On behalf of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, George Ciamba signed the first legislative acts jointly with EP President, Antonio Tajani.
