Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă attended the official dinner hosted by the President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani

During the visit to Strasbourg for the presentation of the priorities of the  Romanian presidency of the Council of the European Union, Prime Minister Viorica Dancila attended on Monday, January 14, an official dinner hosted by the President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani.

Attending the event were also EP Vice-President Ioan Mircea Pascu, EP Secretary General Klaus Welle, S & D Group Chairman Udo Bullman, EPP Group Vice-President Marian Jean Marinescu, ECR Group Vice-President Olaf Henckel, ALDE Group Vice-President Norica Nicolai, co-chairpersons of the Romanian delegation in EPP – Adina Valean and Teodor Stolojan, the Romanian delegation leader in S & D – Dan Nica, EP President’s Chief of Staff – Diego Vanga Fano and representatives of SGCONS.

The Romanian delegation included Minister of Internal Affairs Carmen Dan, Minister of European Funds Rovana Plumb, Minister of Foreign Affairs Teodor Melescanu, Minister of Public Finance Eugen Teodorovici,  Minister of Labor Marius Constantin Budai and Minister-delegate for European Affairs.George Ciamba.

Prime minister Viorica Dancila reiterated Romania’s commitment to being a reliable partner in the EU decision-making process during our country’s presidency of the EU Council. In this context, the Prime Minister expressed the desire to advance as many of the legislative dossiers in the first part of the term of the Romanian presidency. Prime Minister assured her interlocutors of the Romanian Government’s full openness to a sustained institutional cooperation, with a view to strengthening the European Union and bringing it closer to the citizens.

In his address, President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani wished good luck to Romania’s presidency of the EU Council, the first presidency since accession, and expressed his openness and that of the European Parliament to closely work and cooperate with a view to closing the legislative dossiers.
